The solar system
Eight planets orbit the Sun: four small rocky ones close in, four much larger gas and ice giants further out.
A worked example
Sunlight reaches Earth in about 500 seconds. Jupiter is about 5.2 times as far from the Sun, so light takes about 500 x 5.2 = 2600 seconds, or 43 minutes.
The mistake people actually make
The Moon orbits Earth, not the Sun directly. An outer planet takes longer for one orbit because its path is far longer and it travels that path more slowly.
