WHMIS and HHPS symbols
WHMIS labels workplace chemicals with pictograms; HHPS labels household products with its own octagon and inverted-triangle shapes, and the two systems are never interchangeable.
A worked example
A bottle marked with an octagon-framed symbol warns about its contents. The same shelf's inverted-triangle-framed bottle warns that the empty container itself stays hazardous after use.
The mistake people actually make
WHMIS and HHPS are two separate systems, not two names for one: WHMIS covers a workplace, HHPS covers a home. Say WHMIS, never WHMIS 2015, and SDS, never MSDS.
